Cardiff City defender Daniel Gabbidon has given the Bluebirds a play-off boost after signing an improved extension to his contract.
The Welsh international, who won his first cap against the Czech Republic in March, has been the subject of speculation after the last few weeks.
But the 22-year-old has decided to pledge his future to Cardiff, who will not reveal the length of Gabbidon's commitment.
The former West Brom player said: "It wasn't a difficult decision because, since I've arrived, it has gone really well for me.
"I'm happy enough playing my football here, so I was delighted to extend my contract.
"It's quite nice to be made the offer when I still had two years left on my exisiting contract. You don't usually expect that to happen, so I must be doing well."
Gabbidon said the prospect of exciting times ahead had persuaded him to promptly put pen to paper.
"It's a great time to be a Cardiff City player. Sam (Hammam) has made it clear that he wants to play in the Premiership, and so do the players.
"We are playing impressively and I hope it will continue."
Gabbidon, though, may miss out on the first leg of the Division Two play-off against Stoke on Sunday. The defender, together with Andy Campbell and Andy Legg, faces a fitness test before the match at the Britannia Stadium.
Cardiff have sold their 2,500 ticket allocation for the match in Stoke, and the final tickest for the return at Ninian Park on 1 May were snapped up on Wednesday afternoon.
